Ecommerce, Packaging & Labelling Expo Announces the 2023 Award Nominees

At Ecommerce, Packaging & Labelling Expo, we will be paying a special tribute to the most creative, innovative and sustainable solutions across the industry. Held to recognise the companies working to transform the retail sector, Ecommerce, Packaging & Labelling Expo will be hosting industry awards - a celebration of the innovations, services and solutions that have made an undeniable impact on the world of retail over the last 12 months.

Presenting the 2023 Industry Awards…

Innovative Product of the Year Award - The following is awarded to a product demonstrating outstanding quality, functionality and innovation in the sector. It celebrates those whose products will serve the ecommerce industry for years to come.

Lil Packaging

Lil Packaging is Europe’s largest independent producer of ecommerce packaging and is on a mission to eradicate plastics from ecommerce. They’re officially the world’s first and only ZERO-Carbon certified packaging operation but hope that more will follow in their path to NET-ZERO by 2040. Lil Packaging is also proud to be the world's most efficient eCom box manufacturer, producing the highest quality at speeds 40% faster than the competition. Lil Packaging invented the packaging Amazon uses today and supplies to a number of other Internet Retailers: YOOX NET-A-PORTERJohn Lewis & PartnersBoots UKCharlotte Tilbury BeautySonyBEAUTY BAYSamsung ElectronicsTed BakerBloom & WildGroupe ClarinsHotel ChocolatMoonpigGoldsmithsUGG and more.

Morpack

Amor Ambalaj, established in Istanbul under the name of Morpack in 2014, has managed to become the most known and reliable eCommerce packaging supplier in Turkey. From the beginning with an aim of providing solutions suitable for the needs on a sectoral basis, today Morpack offers packaging support to Turkey's largest companies. They simplify, and digitize the design and procurement of custom-branded packaging, and collaborate with world-renowned companies such as AmazonVictoria's SecretTommy Hilfiger and WWF.

The Packaging Club

A revolution in ecommerce packaging, The Packaging Club will be showcasing the FlyPak. This has been specifically developed to address internet retailers' most common packaging pain points. Thanks to the ease of production, the FlyPak is similar or cheaper in cost than crash-lock boxes, yet features include a built-in retention wings system, pop-up assembly, stackable design and solid construction. The retention system also offers unique opportunities for creating unboxing theatre - such as cutout logos with a multi-layered brand reveal. The FlyPak has been independently tested by DPD UK, and has passed all of their stringent impact and security tests. This makes it ideal for high-value e-commerce, such as cosmetics, electronics, and more. FlyPak has already saved £100s of thousands this year for some of the internet's largest retailers.

Penny Black

Penny Black is the only marketing channel with a 100% open rate that allows brands to personalise the unboxing moment to retain customers, increase CLTV and build brand loyalty. They realised that packaging was quickly becoming the only remaining physical touch point brands have with their customers. Yet, most stores still ship their orders out in the standard, boring brown boxes that were unbranded, lacking personalisation and failed to convert customers again. Penny Black’s platform and print tech enables ecommerce marketers to create hyper-personalised in-package inserts that are added to customer orders during the pick-and-pack process in the fulfilment centre. Brands like PAUL VALENTINE and Bird & Blend Tea Co. are already seeing success with Penny Black and are generating £2.20 in additional revenue per insert sent (that’s 11x more than email and 22x more than SMS).

Sustainable Packaging of the Year Award - This award is for those demonstrating products and systems that promise to revolutionise sustainability through incredible innovation, development and industry-shaking solutions.

HSM (UK) Ltd

HSM (UK) Ltd are a German engineering firm, designing and manufacturing high-quality equipment to bale, shred and perforate paper, cardboard and other waste substrates. Their ProfiPack range of Cardboard perforators enables organisations to recycle formerly waste cardboard into highly effective, environmentally friendly protective packaging material and void fill. This not only saves the cost of waste cardboard disposal but also saves the cost of using virgin packaging materials, especially single-use plastic materials like bubble wrap. Employment of the correct HSM ProfiPack machine into a suitable warehouse or packaging environment typically achieves a return on investment of under 12 months resulting in “free” packaging materials for many years thereafter.
